ICS Joins COVESA, the Connected Vehicle Systems Alliance
Dec. 3, 2024 – We’re excited to announce that Integrated Computer Solutions (ICS) has joined open technology alliance COVESA, whose mission is to accelerate the full potential of connected vehicles by fostering collaboration in the automotive industry to advance connected-vehicle technologies and standards for a sustainable future.
ICS was a longtime member of COVESA’s predecessor GENIVI, and joined COVESA because we appreciate that it is the ideal place to engage with thought leaders in the connected-car industry.
“Our involvement with COVESA presents an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to the broader landscape of the automotive industry,” explained ICS CEO Peter Winston. “By collaborating with leading organizations and learning from industry giants like Ford Motor and BMW Group, we deepen our understanding while sharing our insights as passionate advocates for open-source development in an effort to create real business value for fellow COVESA members, as well as our own customers. Working with like-minded innovators is essential as driving transformation in this rapidly evolving sector requires collective effort. This approach has enabled us to innovate and enhance the in-vehicle and on-road experience provided by today’s SDVs.”
Integrated Computer Solutions (ICS) creates groundbreaking products for regulated and complex markets, including automotive and transportation. To achieve this, we combine user experience (UX) design and software development expertise with full product realization services, including QA, test and cybersecurity, for embedded, desktop and companion mobile applications.
We develop on a variety of platforms, including Qt/QML, Flutter, HTML5, QNX, Linux, Android and iOS. To showcase this versatility and portability for software-defined vehicles (SDV), we created a multi-platform IVI system demo that features a micro-services architecture utilizing the same backend code on multiple display shapes and sizes. It also incorporates driver assistance and distracted-driver technologies.
