Dining out is a luxury to many people, and we all want the experience to be enjoyable: good food, delivered quickly, and no fuss paying the bill. Unfortunately, human error can creep in and ruin the dining experience. Most people have at one time or another gotten the wrong food order delivered to their table, or had to wait a long time to pay their bill at the end of an otherwise fine meal. Customer experiences, both good and bad, are quickly posted to social media. These are areas where technology comes to the rescue! In this presentation, we’ll take a look at some of the latest innovations in the food service industry, from tableside touchscreens to touchless payment options, and see how they are quickly changing the dining experience.

Jeff is the Director of User Experience (UX) at Integrated Computer Solutions, Inc. (ICS), which specializes in developing world-class, implementable designs for touch-enabled devices. He has extensive experience developing custom software solutions with a strong focus on applying human factors principles to user-interface design. He earned both his BS and MS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) where he has been an adjunct faculty member. In his free time Jeff enjoys kayaking, archery, and hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire with his rescue dog, Alex.
